RockerDown Studios Opens Photography Cooperative Studio

First of its kind in Cary, NC!

Cary NC, April 2012: The first of it’s kind in the Triangle, RockerDown Studios LLC has opened the doors on a photography and video studio cooperative on March 1st, 2012. Located at 1185 West Chatham Street. What makes this studio unique is it operates as a cooperative rather than a single-photographer studio.

RockerDown Studios is a prominent member of the photographer community in the triangle area and recognized the need for a cooperative studio more than two years ago. “On message boards and photographer meetings, the topic of needing affordable space indoors to bring clients for studio portraits always seemed to come up. We did some research and discovered that Raleigh is one of the few metropolitan areas without a photography cooperative studio. There are so many photographers in this area that it just makes sense to create a studio that the photographer community can share,” Says Rusty Worden, President of RockerDown Studios.

The photography co-op consists of 2 photography bays complete with lighting, backdrops and props and includes the use of the co-op’s transmitters and receivers for any kind of pro-sumer or professional camera. “We want the co-op members to feel very comfortable when they come here so we have done our best to provide all the standard fare in terms of lighting, flooring and backdrops. Of course, we encourage our members to feel free to bring in their own props for the shoot if they’d like as well,” says Craig Rothwell, Vice President of Creative Services.

Mark Jacoby, a prominent, long-time Triangle-area photographer recently joined and stated, “When I determined it was not financially feasible to continue operating my photography studio, I was worried that I would not be able to find an affordable place to photograph. RockerDown was the answer. Not only does it have two fully equipped camera rooms, it also provides an impressive professional environment where I can meet with my clients. I can operate my business out of my home and use RockerDown as my studio. The best of both worlds.”

RockerDown Studios anticipates a significant upswing in the use of this cooperative studio as other prominent organizations, such as the Raleigh Photo Group and the Wedding Photographic Society, have already seen the value and encouraged their members to join the cooperative.

RockerDown is a North Carolina based creative services company that provides training design and development, web design and development, photography and video services to individuals and companies on a national basis. Formed in 2011, RockerDown has seen 1,300% growth from the same quarter last year with projected yearly earnings at 410% growth from 2011. RockerDown Studios originated under the business name Rusty Worden Photography in 2001. In an effort to expand service offerings, the company was reformed as RockerDown Studios LLC in 2011.
